Zafraani Murgh Tikka
Saffron-brined chicken, charred over babul wood, mint and raw-mango chutney.
A tandoor that never sleeps, produce from farms within 120 km of Pune, and a bar built on Deccan botanicals. Lunch thalis to late-night kebabs — this is Zafraan.
"Feed people the way
your grandmother would —
generously, and without
watching the clock."
Zafraan started in 2016 as a twelve-seater with a single clay oven. The idea was simple: cook the food of the Deccan and the North-West frontier with real fire, real time, and produce that travelled hours — not days — to reach the plate.
Today the room is bigger, the bar is louder, and the tandoor is still the first thing lit every morning at 9 am.
"The mutton sukka is the closest thing to my aaji's cooking I've found in a restaurant. Booked again for next weekend before we'd even left."
Ketaki D. · Google Reviews"Took a client team of eight on a Tuesday night — service was quick, the thali was a hit, and the bill was fair. Our default for work dinners now."
Rohan S. · Zomato"That gondhoraj gimlet alone is worth the drive from Baner. Ask for the corner table near the tandoor window."
Priya M. · Google ReviewsWalk-ins are welcome at the bar. For the dining room — especially Friday to Sunday — we recommend reserving ahead.
